Dear friends,
It’s been an awesome couple of weeks for Sweet. Nicoll and I had an amazing time in New Orleans. We’re so excited to take you there. The people are so sweet, you’ll get cavities (so brush and floss a lot before we go). We’re going to have a blast. We’ve also found a fun way to help the community recover from Katrina and help prevent future disasters. Details coming soon.
At the HRC dinner, the amazing founder of WordPress, Bruce Bastion, donated $1 million to the stop the California marriage ban on the ballot this November. Sweet donated a balcony stateroom for two on our Sweet Caribbean Cruise, Nov. 8-15, 2009, to the live auction. We raised $4,700 to fight the marriage ban. Overall, it was an evening of amazing generosity, raising an additional $86,000 for the No on 8 campaign.
Finally, in the news, Sweet got some amazing press in July. We were included in an Entrepreneur Magazine article that got picked up by such news luminaries as MSNBC, the Washington Post and Fox Business. I was also the special guest of Marilyn Pittman on her Out in the Bay radio show. I’ll post a link to it soon. FlawLes launched its new magazine at San Diego Pride. The premiere issue featured an article about Sweet. Spud Hilton also included Sweet in his travel column for the San Francisco Chronicle.
Have a terrific weekend.
Stay Sweet,
Shannon
