While Sweet’s sold out Cozumel resort five months away, the Sweeties, led by 2012 Sweetie of the Year nominee Candy Parker, are cooking up a project to benefit the Cozumel Humane Society, literally.

Between now and April 30, Candy is collecting recipes for everything from beverages to desserts for Sweet’s cookbook. The proceeds will be donated to the Cozumel Humane Society during Sweet’s visit in September.

The project combines two of Sweet’s core values — debauchery and do-goodery — allowing Sweeties and Sweeties-to-be (that means you) to share recipes for their favorite enticing entrees and tasty treats to benefit a great cause.

Comedians Suzanne Westenhoefer, Bridget McManus, Fortune Feimster, Jenny McNulty, Jackie Monahan, and film director Gabrielle Lindau have also signed on to submit their culinary concoctions.

What words best describe Comedian Suzanne Westenhoefer? How about bold, bawdy, and just plain hilarious? Not afraid to ask tough questions that uncover the laughs underneath, Suzanne’s made a career out of telling the truth. And the truth is, life is funny.

After entering the world of comedy on a dare, Suzanne has been delivering gay material in mainstream clubs to straight audiences and proudly performing within the LGBT community ever since. She became the first openly lesbian comic ever to appear on television in 1991 on an episode of Sally Jesse Raphael entitled “Breaking the Lesbian Stereotype…Lesbians Who Don’t Look Like Lesbians.” She went on to become the first openly gay comic to host her own HBO Comedy Special in 1994, which earned her a Cable Ace Award nomination. Other television appearances include The Late Show with David Letterman, GSN’s remake of the classic game show, “I’ve Got a Secret” as well as HBO, Bravo and LOGO TV specials.
