NO on 8: 48 HOURS LEFT

no on 8 horiz2 470x313 NO on 8: 48 HOURS LEFTDear friends,
Thank you for stepping up for our civil rights. I’m so proud to have such big-hearted and generous people on our Sweet list. In the past two weeks, you’ve stood up for our rights and donated over $10,000 to No on 8. You guys rock!

Newlyweds Carol and Sarah from Brooklyn, New York, won our Sweet Caribbean Cruise for two. We’re looking forward to celebrating their first anniversary on our maiden voyage.

We had 110 people donate to No on 8 from all over the United States and Canada. You shared amazing stories with us, stories full of love, compassion and a fervent desire to preserve our equal rights. Some of you gave up your vacations this year, some of you donated despite being recently unemployed, some of you donated as much as you could spare each week and many of you recruited donations from your friends and family.

Since you answered the call, the tide has turned in the campaign for same-sex marriage. The race is now too close to call. It comes down to who reaches the undecided voter last. The streets of California are full of people from both sides of the issue wooing voters. These last 48 hours are crucial. No on 8 still needs your help.

Most of all, No on 8 needs donations. If you are able, please give to No on 8 at your earliest opportunity. There’s a million dollar challenge grant on the table today, so your money is doubled.

If you cannot donate, you can still help in the following ways:
Volunteer: Raise visibility and talk to voters to defeat Prop 8!
Spread the word: Take this simple action to raise visibility for the campaign. Write your family and friends—tell them why Prop 8 is a bad idea and what they can do to defeat it
Engage online: Leverage your online social networks, watch inspirational videos, and download No on 8 materials to raise visibility to show how unfair and wrong Prop. 8 is.

Thank you all for your generosity. Marriage equality is in our grasp. Let’s not let it slip away.

Stay Sweet,
Shannon
