Sweet Caribbean: excursions

pricing | ship | ports | entertainers | excursions | new orleans | overview | faq

MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE: Participate in a 3-4 hour volunteer excursion in one of our ports. Details.

In the ports we visit, we’ll offer amazing opportunities to enjoy the beautiful places we visit, like rafting, party cruises and shopping excursions, in addition to special opportunities for our guests to immerse themselves in the local culture while making a difference, like volunteering for a few hours with a local non-profit organization. Whether our guests want to party like rockstars, enjoy the scenery, sample the local cuisine or change the world, our excursions make it possible to do it all.

Use the comments section below to tell us what kinds of excursions you’d like.

i would like to know what’s included with the trip.

Hi Shirley,

Your Sweet vacation includes your accommodations, all your delicious food, entertainment, and on board activities. So all you need to do is get yourself to the port and we will take care of the rest.

I gues the question that begs to be answered is….
Alcohol included?

Hi Spicy Solo,

Trust me I would love to say alcohol is included but unfortunately it is not. However, the Norwegian Spirit offers a great selection of beer, wine, and liquor at very reasonable prices.

is this a straight and gay cruise? either way sounds good.

Hi Yellotxn,

Our vacations are geared toward the lesbian community. In fact our November 2009 cruise will be the largest lesbian cruise ever. Hope you can join us!

Do you offer payment plans?

I LOVE the idea of being able to volunteer for a few hours as part of the vacation. You just blew Olivia out of the water!

Suggested Excursions: Costa Maya: Snorkeling at Banco Chinchorro, an amzing, natural and prstine reef system (atoll) 30 mins drive from the ship’s dock. Belize City: Water Taxi (65 mins) to San Pedro town, Ambergris Caye, where travelers can choose their own in-town or snorkel excursion on the world-famous reef just offshore, rather than join the hoardes snorkeling at Shark Ray Alley or Hol Chan. Roatan: Skip the typical beach trip to Tabyana Beach and instead catch a taxi to Paradise Beach Club (next to Bannanarama) on West Bay Beach, where the snorkeling right offshore, just off the taxi dock, is world-class. Fewer crowds and all the shade, drinks, food and service one could desire at Paradise or Banannarama. And a nice deli just up the drive behind both properties.

Do you offer Alaskan cruises? My wife would love that!

Hi Wendy,

I totally understand why you would love a cruise to Alaska. it is such an amazing destination! However, right now we don’t have an Alaska cruise on our books but you can be sure that we will in the future. So stay tuned for Alaska and many other fantastic destinations!

My new wife and I have been looking for a lesbian cruise for our honeymoon and I can’t wait to tell her about this one! Granted, it will be shortly after our one-year anniversary but what better way to celebrate! Thank my mom for sending me the website. :^)

Lori’s mom, you rock. Thank you for sending her the web site. Congratulations on your wedding. We can’t wait to celebrate your anniversary with you.

xoxo,
Sweet

How Much are excursions going to cost?

Hi Phyllis,

Thanks for your question! The price of excursions vary but most are under $100 per person. There are some luxury type of excursions that are over $100 including activities like diving, luxury yachts, and ATV excursions. To get the best idea of pricing and excursion selections check out http://www.ncl.com/nclweb/shorexlanding.html .

I hope to book this cruise very soon! It falls on me and my girlfriends anniversary and I’m wondering if there are any anniversary packages.

Any chance you Sweet ladies might do Hawaii in the near future?

An exursion for this cruise that would be fun is if we could locate some lesbian bars at any of the ports we are visiting. Unfortunately we won’t be at any port overnight but I’m sure we could take over the joint for a wild week day! LOL

Oh and any excursion that involves a luxury yacht sounds right up our alley!

Is there anywhere (message boards/chat rooms) where everyone on the cruise could get to know each other during these months prior to departure?

Thanks! :-) Christa

Hi Christa,

Hawaii is always an option for the future! How near in the future is unclear, but we will keep you posted.

For now, stay tuned to our newsletter and web site for new vacation announcements.

As for taking over a bar in port, it won’t be difficult with almost 2,000 lesbians on board! As well, there will be plenty of other options for you. I think that you will be pleasantly surprised. The ports are full of fun things to do.

We are looking into putting a bulletin board for groups up on our site, but we are still a few months away. We do want our guests to be able to chat with and meet each other before their vacations with us.

Stay Sweet,
Nicoll

For the excursions, is it better to book them with sweet when we get on the ship or through norwegian prior to the trip. Is the pricing the same either way. Just trying to plan to make the most of this amazing trip!!!!! I can’t wait!!!! And are you allowed to being your own alcohol seeing as how it is not included on the cruise???

Hi Mandy,

The excursions are best to be booked prior to the cruise. This way you ensure that you get to take advantage of all the best things each destination has to offer. We will send you notification on when you can do this.

As far as alcohol goes NCL does not allow you to bring your own bottles on. There will be drink specials and drink cards to help you with the cost of the beverages. You can also get cheap drinks while in port.

Stay Sweet!

Flavia

could you please tell more on the drink card and drink specials and how do you obtain one?

Is this a non-smoking cruise? There are many of us who are very sensitive to smoke and the thought of being on a ship even if there is smoking outdoors is something we cannot even think about at this time for health reasons. Thanks.

Hi Joanne,

Thanks for your question. There are designated areas on the ship which you can smoke in. We are doing our best to limit these areas as well as cabins in which you can smoke in. I have been on several cruises and on the NCL Spirit and did not find smoking to be an issue. In fact I didn’t even notice it.

Please let me know if you would like to discuss this issue any further. You can reach me at 877-793-3830.

Thanks and Stay Sweet!

Flavia

Hi Spicyred,

You will be able to obtain a drink card when you get on the ship day 1. Also, you will receive a lot of details regarding the trip, what to expect, pricing of excursions, and so on before you board.

You can always email me directly at flavia@discoversweet.com if you have further questions.

Thanks and Stay Sweet

Hello,
Are there going to be group excusrions for this trip? I did not see any listed under the excursions tab.

We would like to know if for one excursion in Belize could be swinging from the trees. We heard from one of our friends that in Belize they have swinging from one tree to another. Could ya”ll look into that for us.

Hi Kathy,

We will be offering the same shore excursion that NCL offers while we are on our Sweet Caribbean Cruise. I looked on their website to see if they offered anything that was “swinging from one tree to another” and I found one that sounds like what you are talking about, the Arial Trek & Cave Tubing! NCL also offers a couple of zip line tours, Lost World Canopy & Rappeling and Raiders of the Lost Mayan Caves. You can check out all of their shore excursions for each port on their website.

Nicoll

Is the price per person or per room

per person

Is there a phone on the boat, if I wanna call my baby girl?

There is a phone on board. It’s rather expensive to call, but you can do it from your stateroom. Another option is to buy a calling card in our ports and use those to call.

Do you use other cruise lines besides Norwegian?? I
guess it depends on the destination.
I see the cruise Nov 8 – 15th is with Norwegian
Spirit ?? I was on the Norwegian Dawn in June
for a trip to Bermuda.. It was our first cruise
and needless to say, were disappointed with the
food selections, and restaurants that were included.
They had specialty restaurants, but that was
extra ?? Are the cruise destinations out yet for
2010??? Thanks.

Hi!

I was wondering about any surfing?
