Deposit and Payment Plan
To reserve your Sweet space on an upcoming vacation, you’ll give a $250 per person non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. We take Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover and checks. If you’re paying by check, please mail so we receive it 7 business days after booking. Unfortunately, we can’t hold your space, if we don’t receive your check. Please make checks payable to: Sweet Ventures LLC.
After we receive your deposit, you’ve got three payment options:
1. Pay in full at the time of booking: Each guest who pays in full when booking receives a $50 on-board credit.
2. Pay in full 90 days after booking: Each guest who pays in full 90 days after booking receives a $25 on-board credit.
3. Our interest-free, fee-free monthly payment plan: It’s simple and you can take your sweet time. After your initial deposit, equal monthly payments will be charged to your credit card up to 60 days prior to departure. We’ll email you an invoice each month when we charge your card. The best part is that it doesn’t cost you a single penny more.
Early Booking
We’re not going to offer discounts on our vacations. We’ve worked hard to price them right from the get-go. Guests who book early will be given first priority for upgrades, the earlier you book, the more likely we are to upgrade you. Upgrades are based on availability, of course, but Sweet loves early birds. Early birds help us plan future trips and the growth of our company. We’re going to do everything we can to ensure that the early birds get the worms, er, upgrades. Sweet will call to notify you of an upgrade, in addition to confirming your upgrade by email.
What’s early? For our first Sweet Caribbean Cruise, November 8-15, 2009, early is booking prior to September 28, 2008. On future vacations, early is three months (90 days) after we announce the vacation.
Email and Travel Documents
Sweet is trying to cut your cost and save paper by doing most of our business via email, so it’s important you provide your salesperson with your correct email address. Your tickets and detailed information regarding your vacation will be sent via email within a month of your vacation. You will receive periodic emails regarding new details about your trip, including added entertainment, port highlights and the basics about what to expect. Additionally, we’ll use email to let you know about upcoming Sweet events throughout the United States. It would sure be fun to see you before we leave.
Another important item is your proof of citizenship. If it were up to us, we’d take your library card. Unfortunately, it’s not up to us. The U.S. government’s Border Security Act requires all guests to provide key personal information in advance of sailing.
That means, all U.S. and Canadian citizens must carry proof of citizenship, either a valid passport or a birth certificate with government issued photo ID (like a driver’s license, even if you don’t like the picture). It is your responsibility to check with your local immigration office and / or respective embassy or consulate to determine your requirements for passports, visas and other documentation, including vaccinations for infectious diseases.
One nifty resource for sorting out your travel requirements is www.travel.state.gov.
Guests denied boarding by local immigration officials for lack of proper documents are not entitled to a refund. A big hug, yes. A refund, no.
Here are some guidelines for travel from the United States:
Guests who are not United States or Canadian citizens must carry a valid passport and multiple entry visa for entry into the United States (B-2 Visitior’s Visa) or a visa waiver when traveling to destinations in Canada, Bermuda, Mexico, the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
As visa requirements vary by country and are subject to change, guests who are not United States or Canadian citizens are urged to contact your travel professional, local immigration office and/or respective embassy or consulate to determine the entry requirements for your cruise destinations.
Cancellation Policy
We want you to travel with us. We know unforeseen circumstances sometimes make cancellation unavoidable. If you cancel 90 days or more prior to your vacation, we’ll move your non-refundable deposit to another Sweet vacation and refund the balance of any payments above your deposit within 30 days of receiving your cancellation. If you cancel 89 to 1 days prior to your vacation, we’ll move your paid balance to the vacation of your choosing less a $100 per guest processing fee.
Sweet recommends the purchase of traveler’s insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances that might prevent you from traveling with us. Travel insurance rocks. It protects against most of the things that get in your Sweet way.
Of course, travel insurance doesn’t protect you in the event of a break up. That’s why we offer you the opportunity to change the name of your guest up until 30 days prior to sailing, so you can bring a friend instead.
Age Requirements
Sweet vacations are all 21 years and older unless otherwise noted.
