FAQ

Thinking about taking a Sweet vacation? Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions.

What is included in the cost of my vacation?
The cost of your vacation includes your accommodations, all you can eat, entertainment, on-board activities, all port taxes and gratuities.

What is not included in the cost of my vacation?
Alcoholic beverages, soda / bottled water and guided tours are not included in your total cost. You will receive information regarding beverage cards, and guided tours before you leave in order to make a good estimate on how much you will spend on board.

What are my payment options?
After we receive your initial deposit at the time of booking, you will have three payment options:

1. Pay in full at the time of booking: Each guest who pays in full when booking receives a $50 on-board credit.
2. Pay in full 90 days after booking: Each guest who pays in full 90 days after booking receives a $25 on-board credit.
3. Our interest-free, fee-free monthly payment plan: It’s simple and you can take your sweet time. After your initial deposit, equal monthly payments will be charged to your credit card up to 60 days prior to departure. We’ll email you an invoice each month when we charge your card. The best part is that it doesn’t cost you a single penny more.

What is Sweet’s cancellation policy?
We want you to travel with us. We know unforeseen circumstances sometimes make cancelation unavoidable. If you cancel 90 days or more prior to your vacation, we’ll move your non-refundable deposit to another Sweet vacation and refund the balance of any payments above your deposit within 30 days of receiving your cancelation. If you cancel 89 to 1 days prior to your vacation, we’ll move your paid balance to the vacation of your choosing less a $100 per guest.

Should I purchase Travelers Insurance?
Sweet strongly recommends the purchase of traveler’s insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances that might prevent you from traveling with us. Travel insurance rocks. It protects against most of the things that get in your Sweet way. Be sure to ask your insurance provider a lot of questions to make sure you’ll be covered, especially if you have a pre-existing condition.

What happens if my partner and I break up before our vacation?
Of course, travel insurance doesn’t protect you in the event of a break up. That’s why we offer you the opportunity to change the name of your guest up until 30 days prior to sailing, so you can bring a friend instead.

What type of identification is necessary for my vacation?
All U.S. and Canadian citizens must carry proof of citizenship, either a valid passport or a birth certificate with government issued photo ID (like a driver’s license, even if you don’t like the picture). It is your responsibility to check with your local immigration office and / or respective embassy or consulate to determine your requirements for passports, visas and other documentation, including vaccinations for infectious diseases.

One nifty resource for sorting out your travel requirements is www.travel.state.gov. Guests denied boarding by local immigration officials for lack of proper documents are not entitled to a refund. A big hug, yes. A refund, no.

Once you have booked your vacation, here’s what you need to know:

What time should I book my flights?
We strongly recommend that you arrive the day before the cruise in order to avoid any flight complications. You will need to arrive at the port between 1pm and 4pm. All guests must be onboard by 4pm.

When booking your flight home we recommend your flight is after 12pm. This gives you enough time to get to go through customs at the port, get to the airport and check in.
We will announce our pre-cruise and post-vacation packages as soon as we can confirm them, but definitely 90 days before our vacation begins.

Can the ship or resort handle special dietary or medical need?
Yes, the ship or resort can handle both types of needs. If you did not mention your dietary or medical needs at the time of booking, please be sure to inform your sales rep as soon as possible before your vacation. We’ll make sure the ship or resort accommodates your request.

How should I dress while on board?
You can be as causal or as dressed up as you like. We have no requirements for your attire. We’ll host some theme parties, so keep a look out for updates on theme nights. Don’t worry, we’ll give you plenty of time to shop.

How much luggage can I bring on board?
We recommend that you bring a maximum of two bags per person. Remember, it will be hot in the ports, so all you really need is your swimsuit. We do recommend that you bring a light sweater or jacket to wear while on board. The theaters and dining rooms stay cool with the air conditioning.

Also, don’t forget, you’ll want to leave room in your luggage for all the shopping you do in port.

What is Freestyle Dining?
Norwegian’s Freestyle dining gives you the ability to eat whenever, wherever, and with whomever you want at your choice of 11 different restaurants. Have Italian one night and Mexican the next, it’s all up to you.
