FAQ

Thinking about taking a Sweet vacation? Here are the answers to our most frequently asked questions.

What is included in the cost of my vacation?
The cost of your vacation includes your accommodations, all you can eat, entertainment, on-board activities, all port taxes and gratuities and Sweet parties.

What is not included in the cost of my vacation?
Alcoholic beverages, soda / bottled water and guided tours are not included in your total cost. You will receive information regarding beverage cards, and guided tours before you leave in order to make a good estimate on how much you will spend on board.

What are my payment options?
RESORT PAYMENT OPTIONS
1. Pay in full at the time of booking: Each guest who pays in full when booking receives a $200 instant credit.
2. Our interest-free, fee-free monthly payment plan: It’s simple and you can take your sweet time. After your initial deposit, equal monthly payments will be charged to your credit card up to 60 days prior to departure. We’ll email you an invoice each month when we charge your card. Take up to 18 months to pay for your dream vacation.

CRUISE & ADVENTURE PAYMENT OPTIONS
Our cruise and adventure vacations must be paid in full 60 days prior to departure. You’re welcome to use our totally free monthly payment plan. To calculate your monthly payment, subtract your $250 per person non-refundable deposit, then divide by the months between now and 60 days prior to our departure.

Do you offer group incentives?
Yes, only on our RESORT vacations. A group is 10 or more people traveling together with one group organizer.

For groups, we offer the following incentives:
Group organizer receives a $500 at-resort credit. Each member of the group receives a $50 at-resort credit, choice of champagne, wine or sparkling cider in room and invitation to VIP party. We’ll also help group organizers set up a non-hosted welcome soiree for their group.

If a group leader gets their entire group to sign up for a volunteer project, we’ll recognize their group from the stage.

What is Sweet’s cancellation policy?
We want you to travel with us. We know unforeseen circumstances sometimes make cancelation unavoidable. Our cancellation policies are specific for each trip. Please see the pricing page for each trip for its cancellation policy. To cancel, call us at 877.793.3830 or email us at [email protected].

Should I purchase Travelers Insurance?
Sweet strongly recommends the purchase of traveler’s insurance to protect against unforeseen circumstances that might prevent you from traveling with us. Travel insurance rocks. It protects against most of the things that get in your Sweet way. Be sure to ask your insurance provider a lot of questions to make sure you’ll be covered, especially if you have a pre-existing condition.

What happens if my partner and I break up before our vacation?
Of course, travel insurance doesn’t protect you in the event of a break up. That’s why we offer you the opportunity to change the name of your guest up until 30 days prior to sailing, so you can bring a friend instead.

What type of identification is necessary for my vacation?
All U.S. and Canadian citizens must carry proof of citizenship, either a valid passport or a birth certificate with government issued photo ID (like a driver’s license, even if you don’t like the picture). It is your responsibility to check with your local immigration office and / or respective embassy or consulate to determine your requirements for passports, visas and other documentation, including vaccinations for infectious diseases.

One nifty resource for sorting out your travel requirements is www.travel.state.gov. Guests denied boarding by local immigration officials for lack of proper documents are not entitled to a refund. A big hug, yes. A refund, no.

Once you have booked your vacation, here’s what you need to know:

What time should I book my flights?
We strongly recommend that you arrive the day before the cruise in order to avoid any flight complications. You will need to arrive at the port between 1pm and 4pm. All guests must be onboard by 4pm.

When booking your flight home we recommend your flight is after 12pm. This gives you enough time to get to go through customs at the port, get to the airport and check in.
We will announce our pre-cruise and post-vacation packages as soon as we can confirm them, but definitely 90 days before our vacation begins.

Can the ship or resort handle special dietary or medical need?
Yes, the ship or resort can handle both types of needs. If you did not mention your dietary or medical needs at the time of booking, please be sure to inform your sales rep as soon as possible before your vacation. We’ll make sure the ship or resort accommodates your request.

How should I dress while on board?
You can be as causal or as dressed up as you like. We have no requirements for your attire. We’ll host some theme parties, so keep a look out for updates on theme nights. Don’t worry, we’ll give you plenty of time to shop.

How much luggage can I bring on board?
We recommend that you bring a maximum of two bags per person. Remember, it will be hot in the ports, so all you really need is your swimsuit. We do recommend that you bring a light sweater or jacket to wear while on board. The theaters and dining rooms stay cool with the air conditioning.

Also, don’t forget, you’ll want to leave room in your luggage for all the shopping you do in port.

What is Freestyle Dining?
Norwegian’s Freestyle dining gives you the ability to eat whenever, wherever, and with whomever you want at your choice of 11 different restaurants. Have Italian one night and Mexican the next, it’s all up to you.

Who can travel with Sweet?
Sweet loves our allies in all shapes and flavors. So while our vacations are designed for lesbians, anyone who looks at what we do and thinks it looks like fun is welcome to join us.
